The Bean Box!

Are you feeling the winter blues, yet!? Thankfully it only got frigid cold here in SC for 2 days and then it was rather warm again! That meant we could go to the zoo and play outside for longer than 15 minutes! We are having a really mild winter and I LOVE IT! However it still gets pretty cold or it rains and with the cold, I am looking for activities to keep my little toddler and I happy and entertained!

I've been wanting to try out having a Bean Box for quite some time, but wasn't sure if Cai was ready yet! Then, my real life friend Anne at Hello Newman's gave her little girl a Bean Box for Christmas and she has loved it! I decided to give it a try today!

Our bean box is really simple. Just a smaller sized bin full of an assortment of beans. I think I used about 6 bags in my bin. I filled it with different sized scoops and containers. Cai LOVED it. I mean LOVED it!
When I thought we had played long enough, I went to put the lid on the box and he made sure I knew he was NOT DONE YET! The only thing is that it didn't take long to realize that even beans are messy. Not as messy as sand, but still messy. So, be prepared for spilled beans, even if you say "Keep the Beans in the box!" you will probably have spilled beans.

An easy remedy is a beach towel or blanket under you. Assuming your toddler doesn't throw the beans, you should be able to scoop it all up and dump back in your bin!
It was really fun and I'm glad I went ahead and did it for him! It's cheap! It's easy! Educational! Why not!
