My Easter Top

Easter isn't about clothes, however, I did actually sew a top that I wore on Easter Sunday and I LOVE IT!!! This would only be the 2nd top that I have ever sewn for myself, the first being my pink lace top! I keep swearing off making clothes until I get a serger, but then I give in...because I just can't help myself! However, really... this time... is the LAST TIME until I get a serger... haha!
I used the Jasmine 1018 from Collette Patterns! And I might be in love (if you can be in love with an adult pattern company!) When I got the pattern in the mail, I seriously held it like it was a flippin' sweet present that came to me from Jesus himself, haha! If you have never used one before, it comes like a little book and is so helpful with a glossary in the back and everything! Plus, their patterns are really fun and sassy, kinda like my zebra shoes I paired with this sailor top!
I'm really terrible at naming types of fabric and since the fabrics I used were free from my Nana and another lady that I inherited her sewing stash, I have no idea what they are called. The light blue fabric feels like fabric you would use for a light summer suit and the white fabric was silky... I'm pretty sure it was silk. Sorry that isn't more helpful, but I am determined to use up my stash before buying anything else!
We had a BEAUTIFUL Easter here in SC! In our family Easter means so much to us! It's a day were we honestly and excitedly proclaim that our God is more powerful than death itself! This week, as I was reading in God's word, I was reminded that this belief is foolishness to the world, but God says that the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men (1 Cor. 1:25). If Jesus had NOT risen from the dead, he would not be more powerful than anyone. He would have been a mere man, but the fact that he is risen, well THAT is a God that can do anything! Praise Him!
We hope you had a beautiful Easter, too!
Oh and THANK you Merideth for the hand-made bow tie... Cai looked so adorable in it from Thatcher's 1st bow tie party! These were Mer's favors!

Happy Easter! He is risen!
