Want a fun sewing challenge? KCWC!

I know many of you that read my blog do a little bit of sewing! I am so proud of you! Well, I want you to challenge yourself next week! Want to know how?

Come be a part of the Kids Clothes Week Challenge at Meg's blog elsie marley!

What is KCWC?

Well, the basic idea is that you challenge yourself for one week to sew 1 hour a day for 7 days making kid's clothes for your child or children! You don't HAVE to sew even that much... just make it a priority to sew a bit each day!

I participated in my first KCWC last fall and I had a blast challenging myself to sew. It really pushed me and I didn't expect to meet so many fun bloggers, because everyone uploads their project to the elsie marley flickr group and literally cheers you on with their comments!

Last year, I made Cai some moccasins, a monster tee, and some funky plaid pants!

It's awesome. I kind of petered out after Day 4!

My plans for Spring KCWC 2012 involve these two Oliver + S sewing patterns:

I really have no clue how I am going to use these. My plan was to kind of sketch out a plan THIS WEEK, cut out pattern pieces, choose fabrics, etc so that I could just sew next week, but right now this week has been pretty busy, so that hasn't happened. However, I'm thinking about making these pants into shorts and adapting the patterns to make them more summery since we are basically into summer here in SC and spring was pretty short lived.

I'll be back tomorrow to give you guys some ideas of some free tutorials I've seen around the web that are really a lot of fun for both girls and boys to maybe get you inspired! Start making your lists!
