"Hand" Towel for Mother's Day 2012

We were so cliche this year with Mother's Day, but it was still fun! We not only gave a hand towel, but did that whole "hand" print idea, as well! I don't know why, but hand art just doesn't get old for me, especially like this!
This time I did Cai's hand print as an applique! It was super easy! And turned out  great!
I got the heart idea from these prints on Pinterest, which kind of inspired this whole tea towel idea capturing Cai's hand in fabric.

If you want to make these yourself, you need:
-Pellon wonder under
-Fabric for the hand print & heart
-paper, markers, thread, etc
Trace your child's hand as best you can...
Gather your fabric and wonder under and iron the rough side to the wrong side of your fabric.
Trace your child's hand print onto the paper side of the wonder under.
 Cut it out.
 Cut out a heart.
Peel off the paper backing from the back of the hand print and lay your fabric hand out on your towel, cover with a damp cloth and steam press for 10 seconds. Then zig zag stitch all the way around your hand print.
It doesn't have to be perfect. It kind of gives it some character... eh, at least that's what I think! Then do the same for the little heart repeating the above steps. Wrap it up cute and give it to yo'mama!
Then, eat a whole package of cookies with your baby! It's okay! It's Mother's Day and you get to do what you want!
Jeez....I love being a mom!
