August/September Sew Classy Sewing Classes

Our first Sew Classy was a success! I held a Beginner, Beginner class at The Mather Company, Inc on Devine Street, and I want to do it again, for sure! Wanna join us!?

If you are wanting to be added to the Sew Classy email list, please email me at I have sort of a "secret" email I send out, before I advertise more publicly for those who have expressed prior interest. You will get first "dibs" on class knowings, and be able to sign up before they fill!
The August Sew Classy Class is going to be held on Thursday, August 23rd from 6 pm - 8ish pm at The Mather Company, Inc in their conference room. Located at 3722 Divine Street, Columbia, SC. I currently have one, possibly two spots open, and I can also put your name on a "waiting list" in case someone cancels. We will be making a simple, but cute elastic waistband knit skirt. You will learn the technique of sewing with knits, and creating an elastic waistband, which is used in a variety of ways in clothing, especially children's clothing. This class is for someone that already knows how to thread a machine or has some basic knowledge of the machine, but it is still a beginner class. Please let me know if you are interested. I have 1 or 2 machines available if you do not have a machine. $20 + supplies

In September, I will hold TWO Sew Classy Classes:

Thursday, September 6th (6 pm - 8ish pm) - Beginner, Beginner Sewing  - Learn the ropes of your machine. Learn how to thread, wind a bobbin, discuss different types of stitches, what your machine does, and sew a cute throw pillow to take home. $20 + your supplies

Saturday, September 29th (1 pm - 4 pm) - Introduction to Sewing Patterns - We will be making the Oliver + S Lazy Days Skirt Pattern. This is a FREE pattern provided by Oliver + S, and is suitable for a little girl in your life. It requires only one yard of fabric, some elastic, and ribbon. It's the perfect class if you have been interested in trying out pattern sewing, learning some terminology, but still great for a beginner sewist. Funny enough, you won't actually be sewing with pattern pieces, but it will give you the confidence to take on pattern sewing. $30 + your supplies

I will be continuing to offer Sew Classy classes 1 - 2 times per month at affordable prices. I want these classes to be fun, budget friendly, and give you confidence to sew! Sewing is my passion and love and I want to share it with others. A portion of my Sew Classy Classes goes to help a Christian ministry. I do form these classes based on known interest, so feel free to say "hey, I want a class focused on xyz!" and I will do my best to accommodate if it's something I think would be popular!
