Pink Seersucker Polka Dot Geranium Dress

Preciousness is all I can say about this sweet little dress.
This is the Made By Rae's newest pattern, the Geranium Dress! It stole my heart with that sweetheart neckline and the flutter sleeves! I chose pink seersucker, and this fun polka dot rograin ribbon ric rac all from Creative Sewing, where I work. I lined it with this fun white cotton that has little flowers with a slight sheen all over it. Pretty sure the lining was inherited.
The back is my favorite with flower buttons inherited from the Nana's stash.
I added a sweet inverted band hem on the bottom. I'm actually not sure what to call it, but it's a result of trial and error with blind hemming, but backwards. I was playing around and really liked this look.
I made this for my friend, Lauren, who just had a sweet baby girl. I wanted to welcome her into the world with something precious and traditional, and there is nothing like pretty pink seersucker on a sweet little babe in the south. I made the 2nd smallest Geranium known to man, size 3 - 6 months! I don't think you should go any smaller! I felt like I was making doll clothing!

This week, I also am playing along with the Project Run & Play Week 2 Challenge with incorporating Polka Dots and Stripes in your look.

This helped fix my need to create a little girl sewing! I just love playing up the feminine aspects, and would have to say this would be pretty close to as signature of a look you could get from me regarding girls! I love classic, preppy, with a twist of fun! :)
