Elsie's Seafarer Top: Hot Pink and Monogrammed

Elsie is my 12 year old cousin! She came for a visit over the 4th and she really wanted to learn to sew, so we worked on a Sew Much Ado Seafarer top together! She loved my monogrammed version.
I guess sewing runs in the family!
It was not exactly a complete beginner sewing project, but she sewed/serged quite a bit of this shirt herself and I helped her with the finite details! And the shirt really does whip up almost by itself!
I love her 12 year old vibe. When looking through my stash of fabrics, she chose hot pink knit and a metallic pocket with bold royal blue monogram. Seriously love this girl's style! I think this is going to be the new "monogrammed pocket trend", don't you?
She really did an awesome job on her hems for her first time!
The only difference with my shirt and hers is that we chose to do a neckband. I like the more finished version. And this knit was SO thin, hemming it very easily could have made it stretched out and wonky!

She rocked it!

In case you are wanting to try this women's pattern for a girl's, we made the XS size and it was perfect on her!
I already miss this sweet cousin of mine! She's awesome!

Come back soon, Elsie! Love you!
